Manhunt Still "shrouded in secrecy." And boxart!

While it's been made clear that Rockstar Games is working on the newest version of Grand Theft Auto for a 2004 release, its flagship development studio, Rockstar North (formerly DMA Design), is hard at work on a fresh title that the hipster publishing label has clearly decided to hide from everybody -- except a few special people.

Sadly, we're not in that category of elite journalists. We're a sorry bunch of online hacks. And our lives are miserable ones because of the medium we've embraced. Sniff...

So, what we can give you is the next worse thing. A rewrite of the press release from E3, and a mock-up shot of box art. But that's not all! No-ho! We wanted to embrace the literature that Rockstar has used to describe the game with as much emphasis and accuracy as possible.

This game, which is still "shrouded in secrecy" will feature:

  • "world-class gameplay"
  • "incredible production values"
  • "a sardonic sense of humor"
  • And finally, Manhunt will "explore the depths of human depravity in a vicious, sadistic tale of urban horror."

"Manhunt will continue in the tradition of world-class gameplay, incredible production values, and sardonic sense of humor that has become synonymous with Rockstar North," says the press release. "Details surrounding the game remain shrouded in secrecy. To date, Rockstar has only admitted this: Manhunt explore the depths of human depravity in a vicious, sadistic tale of urban horror."

That's everything we know. Aren't we crap? We'll have more at a future date.
