With nothing new to report (yet) on the Manhunt front we thought it was about that time of the month to do a roundup of Rockstar related news.

Rockstar have gone and re-designed their official homepage, the new site better integrates the various facetted streams Rockstar now have on the internet, such as their Facebook and Twitter accounts, download, videos, an all new News Wire section which you can even comment on and more.
The design is ever so slightly reminiscent of the Social Club, speaking of…

The Rockstar Games Social Club website has also been updated to include a Friends System and Message Wall for you to interact and communicate with friends - so head over there if you feel the need to insult some folks.

PlayStation Portable owners can finally see what they have been missing out on as the official Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars website now has the first screenshots taken from the PSP version of the game. The game is said to feature “widescreen graphics, enhanced lighting and animation and including all new story missions”.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the PlayStation Portable is due for release in North America on the 20th of October 2009 and in Europe just three days later on the 23rd of October 2009.

In other PlayStation Portable news, Beaterator has finally been given a release date, accompanying the release date is the debut trailer for the Rockstar Leeds developed title (viewable through the official Beaterator website). The game is scheduled for release on both UMD disk and through the PlayStation Network in North America on the 29th of September 2009 and in Europe the 2nd of October 2009. A second trailer for Beaterator is scheduled for release later today.

Two new character art desktop wallpapers have been added to the Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony website for consumption. I think it is fair to say that we should expect a lot more news related to Mr. Tony in the upcoming weeks. Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony is being touted as an Xbox 360 exclusive, however there were reports out of Gamescom last week that suggest Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned was shown being played on the PlayStation 3, combined with the various other rumours, maybe PS3 owners should keep their fingers crossed.

Lastly, all the big videogame news sites have picked up on the ESRB listing of a PC version of Manhunt 2. As of yet we have not received (despite numerous attempts) a response from anyone regarding the issue. We have purposefully not posted (much) about this as we would rather wait until we hear something more substantial than an ESRB listing. Rockstar have promised (through Twitter no less) “lots of announcements coming today” so we will see where that takes us. Take-Two are also scheduled to make their third quarter 2009 financial results next week, so that should give us a better idea of what they have in store for the rest of the year.
