GTA News | GTA IV: "The Lost and Damned" Coming 02/09
Grand Theft Auto enthusiasts will be pleased to know that USA Today has the first details regarding the first episode pack for Grand Theft Auto IV, the pack is titled “The Lost and Damned” and is due for release through Xbox Live next February, no price has been set yet.

Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background. I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.

Microsoft reportedly paid $50 million for the two Grand Theft Auto IV episode packs to appear “exclusively” on their console. However, if I was a betting man I would place a wager on the content coming to the PlayStation 3 sooner or later, I would imagine they have bought themselves at least a 6 month exclusive clearance window and wouldn’t expect to see the first episode on Sony’s console until at least mission pack two has hit Xbox Live, or maybe they will do a re-release of the title and stick the mission packs on the Blu-Ray disk.

Considering the clout the PlayStation 3 has in Europe and Asia it would be a missed opportunity for the content not to unbind itself from its “exclusive” origins at some point or another. Just yesterday Sony announced that the PlayStation Network has “14 million active users” and when questioned recently regarding there being Grand Theft Auto IV DLC on their system Sony said that nothing remains exclusive forever. Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, San Andreas and Manhunt were all PlayStation 2 exclusives after all.
