Manhunt 2 News | Jeuxactu Impressions

Another day, another preview, they just keep rolling in, this time from Jeuxactu
which as you can probably guess is French. You can check this out by using a
translator, although the translation is not perfect, i was able to work out
nothing new is learned from the article. They do however have 6 new screen shots,
an exclusive to their particular online article but 4 of them, unfortunately,
have been seen in magazines. In the latest shot we see an execution involving
the nightstick, Daniel has grabbed an assassin from behind and has put the nightstick
under his chin, probably to snap his head back or choke him.

We have also made a few updates to our Manhunt 2 What
We Know page and added a Manhunt
2 Merchandise page comprising of stuff that we have seen over the past few
months. Check out the Manhunt
2 section for other major updates and as always the Gallery
has been updated with the latest screen shots plus other bits and pieces.

Manhunt 2 News | UnderGround Online Impressions

Another preview this time from UGO
(UnderGround Online) and they have more exclusive screen shots be it only
2 that brings the total now up to 29 shots. In the first screen shot we assume
that the person is a patient and perhaps that could be Leo in the background
looking through the cell bars. If you take a look into the patient files the
same person can also be seen standing in a doorway, so perhaps it is an experiment
gone wrong and this is the result, an almost zombie like apperence. Anyway,
this is the first released screen shot of him, and it doesn't come with a description.
In the article is the following:

In one of these extreme kills, we were equipped with a pair of pliers. Reaching
under and ripping off the guy's doodads, we preceded to jam the pliers into
the guy's back and yank out a chunk of his spine. Seriously, don't try this
at home.

Interesting they mention pliers as the weapon, in one of the magazines it was
said to be the wire cutters but at this stage we believe they are one and the
same. If you check out one of the earlier screen shots you can see a picture
of the execution in action, they also state that they got the chance to watch
the PS2 version of the game in action. They pretty much have the exact same
as everyone else, you can check out the all of the screen shots in the gallery.

Manhunt 2 News | 1up and GameDaily Previews

The Manhunt 2 previews just keep on coming with 1up
and GameDaily
now posting their impressions.

While the game will be mostly identical on PS2, PSP and Wii, there will
be subtle differences like the ability to use voice commands on PS2 (but not
on PSP) and the obvious control changes that come with the Wii version. Rockstar
is silent on specifics there, so hopefully we'll be able to find out more
before the game's July ship date.

The date is again likely just an assumption. They also mention ‘voice
commands’ as though there will be a variety of uses/commands rather than
just to distract hunters. Seems unlikely, unless there are escort missions in
the game, or perhaps some interaction between Daniel and Leo; in the trailer
that Rockstar released last week it showed Daniel and Leo both scaling a wall
together, so who knows there may be something else to it. But I wouldn’t
take that as confirmation just yet.

In the Game Daily preview they offer some additional information into the back
story of the game and Daniel:

This time around, gamers step into the psychotic life of Dr. Daniel Lamb,
a scientist who falls victim to an underground experiment known as the Pickman
Project. After losing his funding, Dr. Pickman continues his masterpiece with
the belief that he's only a few steps from cashing in. Daniel agrees to be
a guinea pig, and in the process goes insane. Committed to Dixmore Asylum
(where Pickman dumps experimental rejects), Lamb sits in a cell for six years,
growing crazier but having moments of clarity that show valuable memory nuggets
from his past, including co-workers and his loving family. At the same time,
he befriends a weirdo named Leo, a fellow inmate that talks of escape. These
conversations become a reality when lightning strikes the asylum, zapping
the electricity and opening all the doors. With Leo's encouragement, Daniel
sets out to locate everyone responsible for making him bonkers, thus embarking
upon a murderous rampage.

They then go onto critise a PlayStation 2 game for looking like a PlayStation
2 game:

GameDaily:

The PlayStation 2 visuals don't help matters. The game looks like it should've
debuted years ago, with unrealistic looking character models and bland environments.
Sweet little touches, such as the shaky camera and the dirty filter slapped
onto the screen add ambiance, but it would've looked a lot better running
on an Xbox 360.

All previews thus far sound very possitive bar parts of the Game Daily preview,
although I am not sure how much of an issue it is for a PlayStation 2 game not
to look like a Xbox 360 game. If you have missed any of the Manhunt 2 articles
over the past few weeks then head on over to our Manhunt
2 Media Coverage page where we have assembled every piece of media coverage
that the game has gathered, both online and in magazines.

Manhunt 2 News | Games Radar Impressions

Games
Radar have a 3 page preview up, nothing new is learned in the article, it
appears to be from the same demo everyone else was shown. They clarify in this
article that they only watched the demo being played, so far each preview has
contradicted the other in terms of whether or not they played the demo. They
did confirm however that each environmental execution will only have 1 level
of brutality, they also stated that when a environmental execution appears on
your radar that it will be a skull icon rather than just a normal white X icon.
You can also choose whether or not you want to kill certain innocent people
mentioned are workmen and janitors. You can check out the article at the link

Manhunt 2 News | IGN & CVG Hands On Impressions

IGN
and Computer
and VideoGames both have previews up for Manhunt 2 along side the articles
are 11 brand new screenshots although 1 or 2 have been shown as previews in
the magazines.

They both don't have anything in the way of new information but they do state
that they sat inside Rockstar London's HQ for a hands on look at the game and
that a Rockstar representative was on hand to take them through the story and
the characters of the game, this is likely where the more detailed information
comes from.

Update: have updated with 2 new screenshots not seen
anywhere else in one of them Daniel has a flashlight in his hand and in the
other an inmate is being beat up by the Orderlies.

You can check out the new images by clicking here.

Manhunt 2 News | Gamespot Hands On Impressions

Gamespot
has posted a preview of a ‘work-in-progress’ demo version of Manhunt
2 on the PlayStation 2. The demo that they got to sample appears to be the same
demo that we read about in all the magazines a few weeks back, while nothing
new is revealed it does expand upon things that where previously known or hinted

The two levels revealed thus far are titled; ‘The Awakening’ and
‘The Honey Pot’, the first of which being the opening level and
the later being the brothel level where we go hunting for Judy.

Apparently when you are navigating air ducts the camera switches to a first-person
perspective, much like it does in Metal Gear Solid.

They also a give off a little more information about Daniel; stating that Daniel
is unsure if his wife and kids are real or just figments of his imagination.
In the article they continue to refer to him as Lam rather than Lamb, this is
just a spelling mistake, I am only bringing it up to prevent confusion.

While OPM UK hinted at use of the USB headset for the PlayStation 2 version
of the game, Gamespot has confirmed it, so those of you that own the headset,
prepare to dust it off and those without, get eBay hunting. The audio in the
game isn’t complete on the demo version of the game but they say what
is present sounds very good.

And lastly they reveal that the game content across all three platforms will
be the exact same with the exception of a new control scheme on the Wii making
use of both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk attachment.

Manhunt 2 News | Game Informer Preview

The May issue of Game Informer has been released to subscribers, if you have
been following the coverage of information from the UK publications then there
is little new revealed, all the images apart from one have turned up in one
magazine or another.

There are still previews coming up in the next issues of EGM, Hardcore Gamer,
PLAY and PSM. If the UK magazine coverage is anything to go by then we should
expect fairly the same amount of information released in all the magazines with
likely one or two new images thrown in for good measure.
